MacMillan, Ian (1947-Present)

He is a singer-songwriter and bass guitarist born in Paisley, Scotland.  In the late 1960s/early 1970s he was with The Poets who were produced by Paul Raven, aka Gary Glitter, and in 1971 became a member of the of-shoot band Cody.

In 1974 he became a co-founder of the band Blue with Hugh Nicholson and Timi Donald and remained with them until their disbandment in 1979.  They saw success with several tours and albums and broke into the charts in the United States and the UK with their single “Gonna Capture Your Heart”, with the small addition of being produced and having backing vocals and keyboards performed by Elton John.

After Blue disbanded he went to live in Canada but is still involved with the various Blues projects that he does with Hugh Nicholson.

He has also released his own solo album called Paisley Boy and a series of short stories.
