Lyne, Allyson

She is a violinist, conductor and teacher who started playing the violin hen she was three and later studied in Toronto and Montreal before becoming a freelance musician in Montreal from 1983 to 2005.  In 2005 she re-located to Edmonton and did freelance work with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.

Other orchestras she has performed with during the course of her career include the Montreal Chamber Orchestra, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Baroque de Montreal, Orchestre Metropolitain and St. Lawrence Cruise Line.

Recordings she has performed on include 3 Musiques Pour UBU by Jean Derome, Vol. 2 – Le Retour DesGraniles/The Return of the Kernels by Jean Derome and Rene Lussier and SMCQ Live by Societe de musique contemporaine Du Quebec.

In the field of musical education she is a teacher who has taught at establishments that include Commission scolaire de laval, Conservatoire de St-Eustache and McGill Conservatory.  She also teaches privately in her own violin studio as well as giving online lessons.
