Liebmann, Helen

Cellist and musical therapist who studied at the Royal Academy of Music and in 1973 she and the guitarist and composer Simon Jeffes became the founder members of the Penguin Cafe Orchestra.

She was a member of the Arditti Quartet from 1976 to 1977  played cello and played and recorded with several ensembles and artists including Murray Head, Joni Mitchell, Bjork, Swing Out Sister and Everything but the girl.

She has also performed on soundtracks such as The Professional (Leon)and Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc.
