Violinist and violist from New York who attended Columbia University and the Manhattan School of Music and studied with Harris Danziger and Rachmael Weinstock.
In 1976, he joined the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Other groups with whom he has worked include the American Symphony Orchestra, the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, the New York Pops, the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra, and Theatre de la Monnaie.
On 6th August 2003, he and pianist Nina Lelchuk teamed up for a recital of the “Violin Sonata in E flat” of Ludwig van Beethoven.
He also performed in the American premiere of Giacomo Puccini’s Requiem.
His compositions include “The Space-Age String Orchestra”. He has served as the Chief Music Critic for the Richmond Times Dispatch.
In the field of music education, he has taught at Midwestern University and Virginia Commonwealth University, later retiring.
