Lekhter, Rudolf

He is a violinist born in Odessa, Ukraine who studied at the Stolyarsky Music School and the Odessa Conservatory. He earned his doctorate at Leningrad Conservatory

In 1974 he became a member of the Leningrad Philharmonic and remained there until 1978.  The following year, in 1979, he became a member of the First Violin section of the Minnesota Orchestra, later serving as Acting Assistant Concertmaster.

He has performed several concertos as a soloist with the Minnesota Orchestra and is an active chamber musician in the Twin Cities.

Recordings he has performed on include All True Man by Alexander O’Neal and Ritual of Love by Karyn White.

In the field of musical education he has been a faculty member of the Rymer School of Music and St. Olaf College.
