He is a French horn player and studio musician who studied at Juilliard School and Temple University and is married to the cellist Elina Snellman-Lang.
He served as Principal Horn of the American Symphony Orchestra and the Israel Philharmonic before becoming Associate Principal Horn of The Philadelphia Orchestra. He also served as Principal Horn on Broadway in the hit production Beauty and the Beast from 1994 to 2007 and has been a guest Principal Horn with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra, the New York City Opera Orchestra and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. He has also frequently performed as a soloist with conductors that include Kurt Masur, Zubin Mehta and Rossen Milanov.
As a chamber musician he has performed nationally and internationally with ensembles that include the Canadian Brass, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Israel Piano Trio, the Philadelphia Chamber Ensemble and the Wister Quartet. A participant in music festivals he has taken part at Bard Summerscape, the Kingston Chamber Music Festival, OK Mozart and the Spoleto Festival.
Working with several commercial artists on their recordings as well as performing music for film and television, he is the co-owner of White Brow Recording. He is a member of the American Federation of Musicians, the International Horn Society and the Recording Academy.
Recording he has performed on include his own One World Horn along with Tell Her I Love Her by Michael Amante, Plays the Music of James Pugh and Daniel Schnyder by the Graham Ashton Brass Ensemble, Swingtime! by Canadian Brass, When It’s Christmas Time by The Depue Brothers Band, Broadway My Way by Linda Eder, 30 x 30 by Joel Goodman, Capo Horn by Lorenzo, Songs from the Last Century by George Michael, Remembering Patsy Cline by various artists, the original cast recordings of Beauty and the Beast and Bat Boy: The Musical, the new Broadway cast recording of How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and the soundtracks of The Chamber, Pocahontas, Shaft and The Stepford Wives.
In the field of musical education he has served on the faculties of Bard College, Curtis Institute of Music, Temple University and the Philadelphia International Music Festival and has given master classes nationally and internationally.
