He is a bassoonist who took his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
In 1976 he became a member of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and later also joined the Vienna Mozart Winds ensemble.
Performing as an orchestral or chamber ensemble musician he has played as a guest musician with several groups that include the Counterpoint, Ensemble of the 20th Century, the Johann Strauss Ensemble of the Vienna Symphony, The Series Ensemble, The Sound Wien and the Wiener Concert-Verein.
His work as a chamber musician has also seen him giving performances at events such as the Bregenz and Salzberg Music Festivals.
His recordings include The Elephant and the Fly with Rudolf Huber, Mozart: Serenades, KV375 & KV388 with Nikolaus Harnoncourt & the Vienna Mozart Winds and the compilation 40 Most Beautiful Relaxing Classics.
