Kublbock, Rainer (1967-Present)

He is a trumpeter born in Vienna, Austria, who received his first music lessons from his father when he was nine years old.  Frome the time he was 13 he was a student at the Vienna Conservatory followed by further studies at Vienna’s University of Music and the Performing Arts and the Bruckner Conservtory, Linz.

When he was 18, in 1985, he became a member of the Bruckner Orchester Linz were he held the position of second trumpet.  In 1989 he moved on and became the first trumpet for the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra.

After staying in his post for around seven years he was given the post of solo trumpet at the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in 1996.

Aside from his work with the orchestra he has also been an active chamber and brass musician performing at several music festivals as well as with ensembles that include counterpoint, Ensemble Corso, Ensemble Tonus, mundArt quintet Vienna, Penta Brass, Sudtiroler Blaserensemble and The series.

His recordings include Grad verkehrt by Ensemble Pro Brass.

His brother is the trombonist Dietmar Kublbock.
