She is a violist from Taiwan who began studying the piano when she was 5 years old and the viola when she was eight. She made her solo debut in Taipei, Taiwan in 1995 and won the second and fifth prizes at the 1996 Taiwan National Viola and Piano competitions respectively and first prize at the 1997 Taiwan National Viola Competition.
She moved to the United States and earned her Bachelor of Music from the Curtis Institute of Music and took further studies at the New England Conservatory where she earned her Master of Music degree.
She performed as Principal Viola with the Curtis Symphony during the 2002-03 season and also in 2002 she won second prize in the Riverside Symphonia Caprio Young Artists Competition. In 2004 she won first prize at the Delaware Symphony Orchestra Young Soloist Competition.
When she was nineteen in 2004 she became the youngest member of The Philadelphia Orchestra.
She has been a soloist with the Curtis Chamber Ensemble, Delaware Symphony, Ohio’s Mansfield Symphony, Orchestra Concordia and the Rice University Chamber Orchestra and has also taken part in many national and international music festivals.
Recordings she has performed on include Alchemy by Jan Krzywicki and Peter Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 6 “Pathetique”/Dumka by The Philadelphia Orchestra.
In the field of musical education she has been on the faculties of Cairn University and Temple University and given private lessons.
