Krumpock, Karl-Heinz (1970-Present)

Violist from Kirchschlag bei Linz, Upper Austria, who attended the Art University of Graz, and the Hochschule and University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. His teachers included Heide Auersperg, Ernst Kovacic and Peter Ochsenhofer.

Groups with whom he has worked include Baroque Ensemble Vindobona, Consortium di Archi e Fiati, the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, the Johann Strauss Ensemble, the Nostitzovym Quartetem, the Vienna Concordia Quintet, the Vienna Philharmonia Ensemble, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and Viva Arte Quartett Wien.

On 6^th April 2004, he and cellist Csaba Bornemisza, Pastor Otto Mag Piplics and violinists Harald Krumpock and Tomas Vinklat, presented The Seven Last Words of Our Saviour on the Cross by Franz Joseph Haydn at the 11^th Mannegesangverein Kirchschlag.

He was a guest artist of the Nostitzovym Quartetem at the Beethoven Festival on 14^th February 2008, when they interpreted the German master’s “String Quartet in E flat major, Op. 74” and “String Quintet in C major, Op. 69”.

On 8^th November 2011, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and Eroica Trio offered up Beethoven’s “Concerto for Violin, Cello and Piano in C major, Op. 56” (“Triple Concerto”) in Foellinger Great Hall at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. The concert concluded with Johannes Brahms’ “Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 73”.

The Vienna Concordia Quintet presented a chamber concert on 1^st May 2012. The program featured “The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba” from Solomon by Georg Frideric Handel, “Ave Maria” by Franz Schubert, “String Quartet in G major, Hob.III/58” by F.J. Haydn and “Three Hungarian Galops” by Johann Strauss.

On 28^th March 2013, he and fellow violist Johannes Flieder, violinists Anton Sorokow and Teodora Sorokow, and cellists Erik Umenhoffer and Michael Vigt, gave a recital in Brahmssaal at Musikverein in Vienna. They performed “String Quartet No. 2 in D major” by Alexander Borodin, “String Sextet in D major, Op. 70” (“Souvenir de Florence”) and “Terzetto in C major, Op. 74” by Antonin Dvorak.
