Korsten, Gerard (1960-Present)

He is a violinist and conductor born in Pretoria, South Africa, who studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and also in Salzburg, Austria with Sandor Vegh who was the concertmaster of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and assistant music director and concertmaster of the Camerata Salzburg.

He has been a principal conductor of the Uppsala Chamber Orchestra and of the Transvaal Philharmonic Orchestra, based in Capetown, as well as music director of the Orchestra del Tatro Lirico di Cagliari, the Orchestre de l’Opera National de Lyon and the Die Deutsche Kammerphilarmonie.

He has also been worked at the International Music Competition Pacem in Terris as a jury member.
