Klier, Michael

Violist and teacher who undertook his musical education at Musikhochschule Koln has been active as an orchestra member, ensemble member and studio musician based mainly in The Netherlands.

He has appeared with the Metropole Orchestra, Magdeburger Barockorchester, Musiqua AntiquaKoln, Netherlands Radio Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras and recorded with many other musicians and singers.

Some of the many albums he has performed on include Isn’t It Romantic by Ernestine Anderson, Alternate Route by Jeff Beal, Our Relations (The Original Sheet Music) by Beau Hunks. Biber:Missa Salisburgensis by Musiqua Antiqua Koln and the Gabrieli Consort & Players, Sensemaya by William Breuker, With Strings Attached by The William Breuker Kollektief, Latin Side by Clare Fischer, Further Adventures by Bill Holman, Saxophone Dreams by Lee Konitz, Skylark by Tom Lellis, Ferd Grofe: Tabloid Suite; Gershwin: Concerto in F by the Metropole Orchestra and Only a Rose by Zoot Sims.

In 2001 he appeared as a violist in the 2002 Dutch film Qui Vive.

In the field of musical education he was a music education manager at the Muziekcentrum can de Omroep until 2013.
