Kitanovic, Ivan (1976-Present)

Double-bassist from Krusevac, Yugoslavia, who attended the school for music in Cupria and the universities of music in Belgrade, Graz and Vienna, where he studied under Josef Niederhammer.

Groups with whom he has worked include the Belgrade Strings, the European Youth Chamber Orchestra, the Johann Strauss Quartett, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg and he became 1st solo bass with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in 2003.

In 2007, he and clarinetist Gerald Pachinger were the featured soloists of Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg at the Landesgartenschau in Vocklabruck, Austria.  Gerald performed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Clarinet Concerto” and Ivan performed Giovanni Bottesini’s “Capriccio di bravura”.
