King, Valarie

She is a flautist who earned her B.A. degree in Music at the University of Southern California and has gone on to become an extremely sought after musician on stage and in the studio.

In 1999 she was a musician with the Grammy Awards Orchestra at the 41st Grammy Awards and accompanied Herbie Hancock and Lang Lang in a performance of George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards.  She has also worked with the orchestras that performed at the American Music Awards, the Billboard Music Awards and the Emmy Awards.  Outside of her orchestral work she has also performed on many soundtracks and scores for film and television.

She has performed with countless artists and groups that include Anisa Angarola, Tony Bennett, George Benson, Ray Charles, Stanley Clarke, Natalie Cole, Michel Colombier, Color Me Badd, Michael Crawford, Ella Fitzgerald, David Foster, Herbie Hancock, Whitney Houston, Maurice Jarre, Elton John, Hubert Laws, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Madonna, Claus Ogerman, Pasadena Symphony, Jean Pierre Rampal,  San Francisco Ballet, Barbra Streisand, Justin Timberlake, Luther Vandross, Grover Washington Jr.John Williams and Stevie Wonder along with numerous others.

She released her own debut recording Today, Tomorrow and Forever in 2002, which won a Grammy nomination, followed by Only Time Will Tell in 2006 and Anytime, Anyplace in 2007.
