She is a cellist who was born to a musical family in Seattle, Washington. Her mother was a cellist, as was her grandfather, her grandmother played the piano, and she followed the family tradition by appearing as a soloist with symphony orchestras by the time she was seventeen years old.
She took her studies at the University of Southern California and after being awarded a Marshall Fellowship she took further studies in Denmark. She became a member of the Toronto Symphony in 1971 but continuing with her musical education she attended the University of Toronto during the mid-1970s and was awarded degrees there in 1975.
Active in the chamber music community in Toronto, she was a co-founder of the Janson Trio and the St. Andrews Consort and has appeared in numerous chamber concerts during her career.
No stranger to the recording studio she has appeared with many artists and groups on albums such as Tremolo by Blue Rodeo, Made in Cape Breton by The Cottars; Grand Passion: World Sinfonia by Al Di Meola, Primadonna on a Moose by Mary Lou Fallis; Adeste Fidelis by Gino & Louis Quilico, Judy Lohman and the Toronto Symphony & Children’s Chorus and Ten Easy Piecesby Jimmy Webb.
In the 2010s she has performed as a member of the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra in British Columbia.
