Kessinger, Wolfgang von (1968-Present)

He is a violinist and violist born in Kassel, Germany who studied violin at Hanover University of Music and Theater from 1989 to 1994.  He had previously taken interest in historical performance practice and studied with Richard Goebel.

He became a member of Musica Antiqua Koln in 1991 and toured with them nationally and internationally as a violinist and violist until 2000.  He was also featured with them on the 2000 soundtrack of Le Roi Danse.

He became a freelance baroque violinist in 2000 and has recorded with ensembles such as Concerto Koln, Capella Augustina Bruhl, Ensemble Alte Masik Dresden and Leipzig Baroque Orchestra among others.  He also joined Batzdorfer Hofkapelle in 2001.

He has been heard on more than 20 recordings which include Dresden Concerti, 5 Ouvertures, Concerti “per L,Orchestra Di Dresda”, Salve Regina, Musica Baltica and Italian Violin Concertos by Musica Antiqua Koln, Saul, D’Operas Italiens, Amoureuses and Castrato Arias by Concerto Koln and Oboe Concertos by Batzdorfer Hofkapelle along with several others.
