Kempf, Volker (1961-Present)

He is a harpist born in Wuppertal, Germany who started training in music with the piano and in a choir and moved on to his first lessons in the harp in 1974.  I 1975 he began studying at the Musikschole Rheinland (Institute Wuppertal) and graduated with distinction in 1980.

Performing as a solo artist he had his first performance at the Oslo State Opera in 1981 and in 1982 went to the State Theater Kassel.  In 1984 he became a member of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.

He has also played on international tours with the Vienna Philharmonic and been a performer with various ensembles.

In the field of musical education he has published and taught methods  in his Viennese Harp School.
