Katzen, Serge

Percussionist and singer-songwriter who was a member of The Seventh Sons with flautist Frank Evantoff and bassist James Rock.  They released one album, Raga (4: A.M. at Frank’s) and Serge co-penned the title track with Egberto Gismonti, Buzzy Linhart, and Rock.  The track also appears in excerpted form on Boots & Roots ESP:  Rock Compilation.

Serge played the conga on Todd Rundgren’s 1972 album, Something/Anything?.  He appears on the fifth track of side four, “Some Folks is Even Whiter than Me”.
