He is a violinist and Professor born in Austria who was a member of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra until his retirement. While with the orchestra he was the founder of the Vienna Symphony Baroque Ensemble in 1989 which was put together for the Bregenz Festival. The ensemble became very popular, performing many series of concerts and were invited to musically organise the festive service “100 years of the Vienna Symphony” in Bregenz.
He has also performed as a member of Concentus Musicus Wien, Die Wiener Solisten and the Orchestra of the Vienna Volksoper.
He has performed on many recordings with a select few being Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: 4 Horn Concertos, Georg Friedrich Handel: Concerti Grossi Op. 3 Nr. 1-6 and Joseph Haydn: Symphonies No. 6-8 by Concentus Musicus Wien, Mendelssohn: Symphony No. 9/Octet in E Flat by Die Wiener Solistin, Christmas with Placido Domingo by Placido Domingo and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Music for Masonic Occasions Vol. 2 by the Orchestra of the Vienna Volksoper, W.A. Mozart: Serenade Nr. 5 in D-dur KV 204 by Die Wiener Solisten and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and Mozart: Serenade Nr.5 KV 204 by the Vienna Symphony Wind Ensemble along with many compilations.
