He is a drummer and vocalist born in New York who had his own band, Rodney and the Mystics, who backed all the major artists from 1961-1965.
He was a member of The Candymen which had a Top 40 Hit with “Georgia Pines”, as well as E.G. and the Hi-Fis, Noah’s Ark, and Beaverteeth. He has backed artists such as Roy Orbison, Gene Pitney, Ray Stevens & Neil Sedaka. He has also been the bandleader for B.J. Thomas.
In 1970 he became a member of Atlanta Rhythm Section but He left after the first album to pursue a solo career. He returned briefly between 1983 and 1984 and then returned to them again in 2008 and has performed with them pretty much ever since.
