He is a percussionist who often appeared with the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble who were a highly acclaimed group based in London that performed and recorded throughout the 1960s and 1970s and then became the London Brass after Philip Jones retired in 1986.
In more recent years he has been a member of The Academy of Ancient Music.
His recordings include Eine Kleine Brass Musik, Classics for Brass, Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition, Renaissance Concert and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
