She is a country music singer-songwriter who was raised in Pollard, Kentucky, and started singing in her church as a child, and wasn’t permitted to listen to any kind of popular music at home. She had been told by the sound system man there that she should pursue her singing and this saw her giving local church concerts and saving enough money to make her own recording.
After having been discovered singing by Toby Keith’s manager while she was singing in a restaurant while at the University of Kentucky she was urged to movie to Nashville, which she duly did, and after having a cleaning job on tour buses there she began working with other songwriters such as Mac McAnally and in January 2007 released her single “He Hates Me” which features on her debut album Big Love in a Small Town.
Although having spent a relatively short time in the business, she has appeared on tour with Toby Keith which led to her being signed by BNA owned by Sony, featured on the Jimmy Buffett soundtrack of the movie Hoot, made her debut appearance at the Grand Ole Opry and was the opener on George Strait’s 2008 tour.
