He was a violinist born in Chatellerault, France who won first prize at the Paris Conservatory in 1950 and the Long-Thibaud prize when he was just 14 years old.
In 1959 he was a member of Le Trio a cordes Francais and in 1960 he took the position of second soloist with the Opera Comique of Paris Orchestra. In 1969 became a soloist for the Jean-Francois Paillard Chamber Orchestra. He performed with that orchestra for 33 years and in 1984 was also chosen as first violin for the National Orchestra of France.
In his recording career of which 150 were with the Jean-Francois Paillard Chamber Orchestra he has been heard performing the works of composers such as Bach, Jean-Marie Leclair and Mozart and features on the albums Vivaldi Greatest Hits, The Harp, Brandenburg Concerti, Fumet: Music for Flute, Violin Passion, The Magic of the Violin, Ravel: Music de Chambre, Ysaye: Poeme Nocturnes et Sonates, The Ultimate Baroque Collection and Musique Francaise Xxeme Siecle (French 20th Century Music).
In the movies he worked in the Music Department on the 1959 Le Signe du Lion.
As a teacher he was a professor at the Paris Conservatoire.
His daughter is the violinist Bernadette Jarry-Guillemot.
