Banjo player named Carlton Jackson but often credited as Carl Jackson, who has worked with Alabama, Glen Campbell, Martin & Finley, and Marty Stuart.
In the 1970s he scored a huge hit with Glen Campbell on the song “Dueling Banjos” which was used for the soundtrack of Deliverance. In 1983, he went on a tour with Alabama that included stops at The Music Mill in Nashville, Tennessee, and The Reunion Arena in Dallas, Texas. Some of these tracks—“I’m Not That Way Anymore”, “Lovin’ Man”, “Rock on the Bayou”, “(There’s a) Fire in the Night” and “When We Make Love—were recorded live.
