Huybregts, Pierre (22nd September 1932-26th February 2003)

He was a pianist and teacher born in Antwerp, Belgium, who performed concerts throughout Europe and championed the work of Federico Mompou.

In his recording career he performed on more than 20 albums and CDs.

He became a Professor Emeritus of Music at the University of West Florida and after he passed away his widow set up a scholarship for the upperdivision piano majors at the university.

He died of cancer in February 2003 in Pensacola, Florida, when he was 70 years old.
