Violinist with the London Symphony Orchestra who appears on their recordings, ClassikhanEpiphanyJohn Adams:  A Flowering TreeMusic of HopePergolesi—Stabat Mater and Zappa.  He is also credited on déjà fou by Strawbs, Fresh Aire 8 by Mannheim Steamroller and stooping to fit by the catchers.

On 8th May 2007, the LSO were joined by soprano Angela Gheorghiu at Barbican Hall for an operatic concert that included Georges Bizet’s “Habanera” from Carmen, George FridericHandel’s “Lascia ch’io pianga” from Rinaldo, Pietro Mascagni’s “Intermezzo” from Cavelleriarusticana, Giacomo Puccini’s “Un bel di vedremo” from Madama Butterfly and Giuseppe Verdi’s overture from Nabucco.

They offered up Claude Debussy’s “Three Preludes”, Sergei Prokofiev’s “Violin Concerto No. 1”, with soloist Vadim Repin, and Igor Stravinsky’s Petrushka and “Symphony in Three Movements” on 13th June 2007.

On 14th June 2007, they teamed up with Andrew Marriner on Debussy’s “First Rhapsody for Clarinet”, which was sandwiched between Prokofiev’s October Cantata and Stravinsky’s Les Noces.

There was more opera to be enjoyed on 2nd May 2008 when tenor Roberto Alagna took center stage for an all-Verdi program that included highlights from Un ballo in mascheraLa forza deldestinoLuisa MillerMacbethNabuccoOtelloLa traviata and Il trovatore.

In March 2009, the LSO were involved in the Great Performers Series at Lincoln Center.  On their agenda was “Russian Dreams:  The Music of Sergei Prokofiev”.  Over the course of eight days, they performed all seven of his symphonies, both of his violin concertos, with VadimRepin, and his second and fourth piano concertos, with Vladimir Feltsman and Alexei Volodin, respectively.

They were back at Lincoln Center for the GPS on 25th October 2009 when they performed Gustav Mahler’s “Symphony No. 9 in D major”.

On 30th January 2011, soprano Cheryl Barker, mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly, the London Symphony Chorus & Orchestra, bass Iain Paterson and tenor Stuart Skelton performed The Kingdom by Sir Edward Elgar at Barbican Hall.

The Brooklyn Youth Chorus, alto Anna Larsson, the LSO and Riverside Choral Society joined forces for Mahler’s “Symphony No. 3 in D minor” at Lincoln Center on 25th February 2011.

On 27th February 2011, it was wall-to-wall Mahler at Lincoln as the LSO interpreted the master’s “Adagio” from “Symphony No. 10 in F sharp minor” and “Symphony No. 9 in D major”.

They were back in the friendly confines of Barbican Hall in May 2011 for a pair of concerts featuring Dmitri Shostakovich’s “Concerto for Trumpet, Piano and Strings” and “Piano Concerto No. 2”, with Yefim Bronfman at the keys, and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 3” (“Polish”).
