Hoffinger, Karl (1951-Present)

Violinist from Vienna, Austria, who attended the Universitat fur Musik and studied with Ricardo Odnoposoff.  Groups with whom he has worked include Concentus Musicus, the Sudwestdeutschen Kammerorchester Pforzheim and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.

On 11th November 1988, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra appeared in Hill Auditorium at the University of Michigan where they performed the overture from The Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “Der Rosenkavalier Suite, Op. 59” by Richard Strauss and Symphonie Fantastique, Op. 14 by Hector Berlioz.

Karl appears on a recording of Johann Sebastian Bach’s St. Matthew Passion by the Arnold Schoenberg Chor, Concentus Musicus Wien and Wiener Sangerknaben on the Teldec label.
