He is a trumpeter who is a former member of Tim Zimmerman & The King’s Brass. While performing with the ensemble in 1980 he met the organist and pianist Nancy Gottschling and they were later married and have two children.
He studied engineering at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and has worked for Chrysler LLC. He has performed trumpet with local bands in his home state of Michigan.
