Violinist with the London Symphony Orchestra who has appeared on several of their recordings, including Beethoven:  Mass in C and Britten:  War Requiem with the London Symphony Chorus, Classikhan with Chaka Khan, Mahler:  Symphony No. 9 and Nielsen:  Symphonies Nos 4 & 5.  He can also be heard on the soundtrack of Xenosaga with the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

On 13th June 2007, the LSO interpreted Claude Debussy’s “Three Preludes”, Sergei Prokofiev’s “Violin Concerto No. 1”, with soloist Vadim Repin, and Igor Stravinsky’s Petrushka and “Symphony in Three Movements”.

They were joined by Andrew Marriner for Claude Debussy’s “First Rhapsody for Clarinet” on 14th June 2007.  It was sandwiched between Prokofiev’s October Cantata and Stravinsky’s Les Noces.

On 3rd July 2007, they performed “Metaboles” by Henri Dutilleux, the second suite from Daphnis et Chloeby Maurice Ravel, and “Piano Concerto No. 1” by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, with Barry Douglas at the keys.

They teamed up with soprano Deborah Voigt on 12th June 2009 for an operatic affair that comprised Ludwig van Beethoven’s overture from Fidelio, Richard Strauss’s “Closing Scene” and “Dance of the Seven Veils” from Salome, “Ich kann nicht sitzen” from Elektra and “Zweite Braut nacht” from Die Aegyptische Helena, und Richard Wagner’s “Dich, teure Halle” and “Entry of the guests” from Tannhauser, “Du bist der Lenz” from Die Walkure, and “Siegfried’s Rhine Journey” from Die Gotterdammerung.

On 16th June 2010, they offered up Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “Piano Concerto No. 3”, with soloist Vladimir Feltsman, followed by Francis Poulenc’s Gloria, sung by the London Symphony Chorus and soprano Sally Matthews.

They were at Lincoln Center on 27th February 2011 for a performance of Gustav Mahler’s “Adagio” from “Symphony No. 10 in F sharp minor” and “Symphony No. 9 in D major.

On 19th October 2011, Nikolaz Znaider was their guest soloist in an all-Sibelius concert featuring the Finnish master’s “Symphony No. 2 in D major” and “Violin Concerto in D minor”.

The London Symphony Chorus reunited with them on 21st October 2011 for the White Light Festival at Lincoln Center where they presented Beethoven’s Mass in D major (Missa Solemnis).

On 9th February 2012, clarinetist Eddie Daniels joined the LSO for a program of 20th-century music that comprised John Adams’ “The Chairman Dances” from Nixon in China, Leonard Bernstein’s “Prelude, Fugue and Riffs” and “Three Dance Episodes from On the Town”, Aaron Copland’s “Clarinet Concerto”, Duke Ellington’s “Harlem” and Darius Milhaud’s “La creation du monde”.

The LSO interpreted Benjamin Britten’s “Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes”, Dmitri Shostakovich’s “Violin Concerto No. 1”, with soloist Sarah Chang, and Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 6” (“Pathetique”) on 23rd February 2012.

On 29th April 2012, the Ladies of the London Symphony Chorus and soloist Christian Tetzlaff collaborated with the LSO in a concert that featured Debussy’s “Three Nocturnes”, Alexander Scriabin’s “Symphony No. 4” (“The Poem of Ecstasy”) and Karol Szymanowski’s “Violin Concerto No. 1”.

Pianist Yefim Bronfman and soprano Elizabeth Watts shone in an LSO program that included Beethoven’s “Piano Concerto No. 3” and Mahler’s “Symphony No. 4” on 27th May 2012.

On 31st May 2012, Bronfman and violinist Gil Shaham were the featured soloists as the LSO opened with Alban Berg’s “Chamber Concerto” and closed with Mahler’s “Symphony No. 1” (“Titan”)

Shaham was back at centre stage as the LSO paired Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Violin Concerto No. 5” (“Turkish”) with Mahler’s “Symphony No. 5” on 3rd June 2012.

He is the founder of the Orchestra Musica Romantica which debuted in December 2012.
