Graham, Bill C. (26th August 1940-21st October 2019)

He was a bassist, fiddler and mandolin player born to a musical family in Brownwood, Texas, who started out on his musical career with Dean Beard and the Crew Cats.

His early credits include “Jambalaya (On the Bayou)”, “Wabash Cannonball” and “You Can’t Make a Heel Toe the Mark” with Wanda Jackson in July 1966.  After a few years with Wanda he met up with a young singer called Glen Campbell and from there he went on to enjoy a long career working with his band.

On 13th April 1970, he won Top Bass Player at the Academy of Country & Western Music Awards.  He went on to win the award again in 1971, 1975, 1976 and 1980.

He passed away from a sudden illness in Goodlettsville, Tennessee in October 2019 when he was 79 years old.
