Gottwald, Wilfried

He is an Austrian saxophonist, clarinetist, conductor, arranger and teacher who performed  saxophone and clarinet with the German group Blue Tramps from 1961 to 1964.

He went on to become a long standing member of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, appearing on several of their recordings including Mozart: Serenades KV375 and KV388, VSOP Vienna Symphonic Orchestral Project and Tanzmusik aus Alt Wien.  He has since retired.

Alongside his work with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra he founded and became the conductor of the Guntramsdorf Wind Orchestra in 1988.

As a solo artist he released his own album, Klarinetten-Facetten in 2012.

In the field of musical education he has been a Professor of Clarinet and Saxophone.
