Goodman, Tom

Double-bassist who attended the Royal Northern College of Music, from whence he obtained a performance credit and Bachelor of Arts degree.

Groups with whom he has worked include the Halle Orchestra, the Liverpool Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Manchester Camerata.

On 2nd May 2008, the LSO were joined by tenor Robert Alagna for a program of operatic music by Giuseppe Verdi.  The evening’s music featured “Niun mi tema!” from Otello, “Questa o quella” from Rigoletto, and “Va, pensiero” from Nabucco.

Tom participated in LSO Discovery Day with a performance of Franz Schubert’s “Trout” quintet in Jerwood Hall at LSO St. Luke’s on 10th June 2012.

Recordings on which he appears include Holst:  The Planets with Sir Colin Davis, the Ladies of the London Symphony Chorus, and the LSO.

In the field of music education, he has taught at Chetham’s, and served as a tutor at the Royal Northern College of Music and coach at the Royal Academy of Music.
