Cellist who attended Northwestern University and Yale School of Music and went on to a successful career as a chamber and orchestral musician, both in live performances and recordings.
Groups with whom she has worked include the American Ballet Theater, the Bronx Arts Ensemble, the Bronx Chamber Orchestra, the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra and Opera, Classic Touch, the Cummings Ensemble, the Grant Park Symphony, the Herrick Trio, the Leonia Chamber Musicians Society, the Little Orchestra Society, the New York Cello Society, the New York Pops, and the Westfield Symphony Orchestra.
From 23rd October 1980 through 11th January 1981, she was in the orchestra bit for a Broadway production of Tintypes.
The Bronx Chamber Orchestra and New York Latvian Concert Choir gave the world premieres of Ziemas Svetku Kantate by Pauls Dambis and “Ziemsvetki Jaunaja Pasaule” by Ugis Praulins in Yonkers, New York, on 11th December 2004.
On 8th April 2008, the New York Cello Society performed an in memoriam concert for Esther Prince at the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York, New York. Their program comprised “Bachianas Brasilieras No. 5” by Heitor Villa-Lobos, “Nigun” by Ernst Bloch, “Nocturne in C sharp minor” by Frederic Chopin and “The Song of the Birds” by Pablo Casals.
The Leonia Chamber Musicians appeared at All Saints Episcopal Church in Leonia, New Jersey, on 12th February 2012. The “Evening of Romantic Music” included a trio by Francis Poulenc and the “Trout Quintet” of Franz Schubert.
Daryl has been heard on the radio programs, All Things Considered, Around the Town, and Prairie Home Companion.
Her discography includes: the original cast recordings of Catch Me if I Fall, Hello Again and Sweeney Todd; Gay American Composers; Insertions, Photo-Op and Tonkin by Conrad Cummings with the Cummings Ensemble; George Quincy: Pocahontas at the Court of King James/Choctaw Diaries with the Bronx Arts Ensemble; Sundry Notes by Joshua Rosenblum; and, Vuci Siculani by Marc-Antoni Consoli.
In the field of music education, she has taught at the Ben Franklin School, the Chautauqua Institution, Far Brook School, the Ridgewood Community School, and given private lessons in Leonia, New Jersey.
