He is a bass/baritone singer born in Thetford, Norfolk, England who started out as a chorister singing under the direction of Sir. David Willcocks at King’s College, Cambridge. He undertook his studies, also becoming a prize-winner, at London’s Royal College of Music.
After his studies he became a performer who has sung with orchestras and ensembles nationally and internationally with numerous acclaimed conductors which include Harry Christophers, Sir John Gardiner, Richard Hickox, Sir Neville Mariner, Riccardo Muti, Kent Nagano, Roger Norrington, Thomas Sanderling and Edo de Waart along with many others. He has also been a singer at the majority of the major British music festivals.
Orchestras and ensembles he has performed with include the Academy of Ancient Music, Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, the Bach Choir, the BBC Philharmonic, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the Brabant Orchestra, Collegium Musicum 90, the Hanover Band, The Hilliard Ensemble, The King’s Consort, the London Philharmonic, the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, The Sixteen and The Vienna Philharmonic.
