Trumpeter who attended California State University in Long Beach and the University of Southern California, from whence he obtained a degree in performance.
From 1987 to 1991, he was a member of the Israeli Philharmonic. In 1991, he served as guest principal trumpet of the Malmo Symphony in Sweden.
Other groups with whom he has worked include the American Ballet Theater, the Bolshoi Ballet, the California Philharmonic, the Cole Conservatory Orchestra, the Crown City Brass Quintet, the Downey Symphony, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra, the Joffrey Ballet, the Long Beach Symphony, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the Los Angeles Mozart Orchestra, the Los Angeles Opera, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Miami City Ballet, the Moscow Classical Ballet, the New West Symphony, Opera Pacific, the Pacific Symphony, the Pasadena Symphony, the Pomona Concert Band, the Royal Opera, the San Diego Symphony, the Santa Barbara Symphony, the Santa Maria Philharmonic, the Stuttgart Ballet, and the Ventura County Festival Orchestra.
He and Eduardus Halim performed “Concerto No. 1 for Piano and Trumpet” by Dmitri Shostakovich at the Ventura Chamber Music Festival on 11th May 1996.
In 1997, he became an applied music teacher at his alma mater, CSU-Long Beach.
The Crown City Brass Quintet appeared in a benefit concert at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks on 15th March 1999. On 4th June 2005, they haunted Harman Hall at CaliforniaPolytechnic State University where they played Eric Ewazen’s “Shadowcatcher”.
Rob and organist Johannes Muller-Stosch gave a recital at the First Presbyterian Church in San Pedro on 19th October 2008. Their program comprised “Alleluias” by Marius Constant, “Concerto in B flat” by Tomaso Albinoni, and “Sonata for Trumpet and Organ” by NajiHakim.
On 4th December 2008, he teamed up with the Cole Conservatory Wind Symphony for “Excursions for Trumpet and Band” by Bruce Broughton in Daniel Recital Hall at CSU-LongBeach.
In 2009 and 2010, he was the principal trumpet for a North American tour of “Star Wars: A Musical Journey”.
On 21st October 2011, he performed the “Trumpet Concerto in E flat major” of Johann Nepomuk Hummel with the Cole Conservatory Orchestra.
The Long Beach Symphony Orchestra Chamber Players interpreted The Soldier’s Tale by Igor Stravinsky at the Art Theater on 6th May 2012.
Recordings on which Rob appears include his own In the Big City, the soundtracks of Avatar, First Knight, Gypsy, Miracle, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Species, Spider-Man 3 and Today’s Life, and the video games BioShock 2, Lost Planet 2, and Return to Zork.
