Fleischmann, Werner (1955-Present)

Double-bassist who attended the Vienna Academy of Music and went on to work with Ensemble Bella Musica de Vienne, the ORF Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, which he joined in 1977.

In May 2010, he participated in the Klangfruehling Gala at Festival Hall Castle.  Highlights included Claude Bolling’s “Suite for Flute and Jazz Trio” and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, K. 525”.

The Vienna Symphony Orchestra and Eroica Trio interpreted Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Concerto for Violin, Cello and Piano in C major, Op. 56” (“Triple Concerto”) in Foellinger Great Hall at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts on 8th November 2011.  The concert concluded with Johannes Brahms’ “Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 73”.

Recordings on which Werner appears include Beethoven:  Danses Allemandes/Menuets and Haydn:  Zingarese/Landler/Nocturnes with Ensemble Bella Musica de Vienne.

In the field of musical education he has been a lecturer at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna since 2002.
