Eisterer, Hermann (1963-Present)

He is a double bass player born Hermann Weiner Eisterer who was an honours graduate from the Vienna Conservatory in 1989.  He went on to take further studies in Vienna at the University of Music and Performing Arts.

In 1991 he became a member of the Lower Tonkunstlerorchester and performed with them for the next year.

Two years later in 1994 the Vienna Symphony Orchestra gave him the position of Assistant Principal Double Bassist.

In 1996 he became a lecturer at Vienna’s University of Music and Performing Arts.

Aside from his work with the VSO he is also a busy chamber musician who has performed with ensembles that include Concentus Musicus, the Concilium Musicum and the Salzberg Baroque Ensemble.

In 2012 he took part in the Styraburgfest Steyr where he performed Metamorphosen by Richard Strauss as a member of a string ensemble.
