Edwards, Neil

He is a saxophonist, songwriter and arranger born in Long Island, New York who first earned to play songs by R&B and funk groups when he was young and learned to play covers of songs by jazz artists such as The Crusaders, Hubert Laws and Grover Washington Jr.  He studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts followed by the State University of New York Old Westbury.

He became a member of the group B.T. Express in the 1990s.   With them he toured the United States and gave performances in Japan and Europe.   A remix of the group’s “Express” reached No.67 in the UK in 1994 and their first live CD was released in 1998.

He has also performed with The Brother Johnson, The Dazz Band, Evelyn “Champagne” King and Lakeside alongside B.T. Express as well as performing at the wedding of Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills in Ireland and on several television shows.

Recordings he has performed on include his own Gotta Get My Groove On along with Dimensions of Love by Charmaine.
