Ducker, Michael (1962-Present)

He is a lutenist and editor born in Fulda, Germany who studied in Cologne at the Staatiche Musikschole followed by the Musikhochschule Frankfurt and the University of Wurzburg.

He has performed with several early music ensembles during his career with some of these including Akademie fur Alte Musik Berlin, Concerto Koln, La Stagione Frankfurt, La Stravaganza Koln and Musica Antiqua Koln among others.  He is a founder of the ensemble Nuovo Aspetto.

As an editor he has edited the Edition Walhall for Kolner Reihe Alte Musik.

Recordings he has appeared on include his own La Belle Indifferente: Music for Lute, Sylvius Leopold Weiss – Sonaten Fis-moll/G-moll and Dramatic Cantatas & Popular Songs (1657) along with Vivaldi: Concerto per Violino by Harmonie Universelle, Telemann – Don Quichotte Auf Der Hichzeir Des Comacho by La StagioneG.F. Handel: Musick for the Royal Fireworks and Other Orchestral Masterpieces by La Stravaganza Koln, Johann David Heinichen – Dresden Concerti, Veracini – 5 Ouvertures, Musica Baltica and Concerti “Per L’Orchestra Di Dresda” by Musica Antiqua Koln and Valer Sabadus: Caldara by Nuovo Aspetto along with many others.

In the field of musical education he has worked at the Hochschule fur Musik Franz Liszt Weimar.
