Violinist from London, England, who attended the Banff Centre for the Arts, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and the University of Cambridge. Her teachers included Erich Hobarth, Maigread McCrann and David Takeno.
Groups with whom she has worked include Camerata Salzburg, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Deutsche Kammer Philharmonie Bremen, Dolby’s Around, the Doremis Ensemble, the European Union Youth Orchestra, the Salzburg Mozart Quartet, String & Siren, the Tokyo Ensemble and the Vienna Chamber Orchestra.
On 30th April 2001, the Tokyo Ensemble appeared at Kioi Hall where they performed “Navarra” by Pablo de Sarasate, “Sinfonia Concertante, K. 364” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “String Quintet No. 2 in G major, Op. 77” and “Waltz in A major, Op. 54, No. 1” by Antonin Dvorak, and “2 Fragments in Black and Yellow” by Ikuma Dan.
They took the stage at Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall on 7th September 2002 when they offered up “Polka” by Dmitri Shostakovich, “Sad Song” by Joon-il Kang, “Serenade for Strings” by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, “String Octet, Op. 20” by Felix Mendelssohn and “Valse Triste” by Jean Sibelius.
In June 2003, they toured Portugal where their program consisted of “Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, BWV 1050” by Johann Sebastian Bach, “Concerto No. 2 for Piano and Orchestra” by Frederic Chopin, “Holberg Suite” by Edvard Grieg, “Three Film Scores” by Toru Takemitsu and “2 Fragments in Black and Yellow” by Ikuma Dan.
Their repertoire in 2004 included: “Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, BWV 1050” by Johann Sebastian Bach; “Conte Fantastique: Mask of the Red Death” by Andre Caplet; “Fantaisie in A major, Op. 124” by Camille Saint-Saens; “Flute Quartet in D major, K. 285”, “Quintet in A major, K. 581” and “Trio, K. 498” (“Kegelstatt”) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; “Frauenherz Polka” by Josef Strauss; “Metamorphosen” by Richard Strauss; “Piano Quintet in A major, Op. 81” by Antonin Dvorak; “Pizzicato Polka” by Johann Strauss II; “Sonata No. 6 in A major, Op. 30/1” by Ludwig van Beethoven; “String Trio in B flat major, D. 471” by Franz Schubert and “Wiener Gemuts” by Johann Strauss.
On 30th November 2005, they returned to Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall for a concert that featured highlights from Arcina and Giulio Cesare in Egitto by Georg Frideric Handel, “Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, BWV 1050” by Johann Sebastian Bach, “Sonata for Two Pianos in D major, K. 448” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and “Souvenir of Florence, Op. 70” by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
Same venue, different program: On 8th October 2006, they opened with “Andante in C, K. 315”, “Concerto in D for Violin and Orchestra, K. 219” (“Turkish”) and “Symphony No. 1 in E flat major, K. 16” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and closed with “String Sextet” (introduction) from Capriccio by Richard Strauss and “Verklarte Nacht, Op. 4” by Arnold Schoenberg.
On 6th September 2007, they were joined by pianist Mihaela Ursuleasa at Makubetsu-cho Memorial Hall for “Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21” by Frederic Chopin. The evening was rounded with “Chamber Symphony in C minor, Op. 110a” by Dmitri Shostakovich, “Introduction and Allegro in G minor, Op. 47” by Sir Edward Elgar, “Vienna Feeling” by Johann Strauss and “Women’s Heart, Op. 166” by Josef Strauss.
Wiener Kammermusiker interpreted Gernot Wolfgang’s “Impressions” at Pfarrzentrum am See in Hard on 14th July 2010. On 15th August 2010, Dolby’s Around surrounded the Bregenz Festival with the sounds of Mieczyslaw Weinberg’s “Chamber Symphony No. 1, Op. 145”.
The Vienna Symphony Orchestra teamed up with the Eroica Trio in Foellinger Great Hall on 8th November 2011 in a program that comprised “Concerto for Violin, Cello and Piano in C major, Op. 56” (“Triple Concerto”) by Ludwig van Beethoven and “Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 73” by Johannes Brahms.
On 11th March 2012, the Doremis Ensemble haunted Brahms Hall at Musikverein Wien where they presented an all-Bach recital that opened with Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s “Flute Concerto in D minor, Wq 22” and “Trio Sonata in C major, Wq 147”, and closed with Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 in D major, BWV 1050” and “Trio Sonata” from “Musikalischen Opfer, BWV 1079”.
In the same venue, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra gave the world premiere of “Joseph’s Lonely Heart Septet” by Hyung-ki and followed it up with Igor Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du Soldat on 17th February 2013.
