He is a violinist born in Mulheim an der Ruhr, Germany, who took violin studies with Geoffrey Wharton and Tibor Istvanffy. Interested in early music interpretation he worked in collaboration with several artists that included Reinhard Goebel of Musica Antiqua Koln.
In 1993 he became concertmaster of Batzdorfer Hofkapelle which performs operatic music from the Dresden repertoire. He has also founded the chamber group Ensemble CordArte in Cologne.
In 2009 he performed in Berlin and Hamburg as well as London, England, with the musician Daniel Hope. The following year he was a co-founder of the Kreizkirche Bonn Baroque Orchestra.
He has recorded several CDs which include Sonatas from the Dresden Pilendel Collection and Johann Pfeiffer: Overtures and Concertos by Batzdorfer Hofkapelle and Henry Purcell: Chamber Music for Up to Four Parts and German Chamber Music from the 17th Century by Ensemble CordArte and Johann Gottlieb Naumann: Psalms 96 & 103 by Kornershcher Sing-Verein Dresden and Johann Adolf Hasse: Salve Regina by Musica Antiqua Koln.
In the world of musical education he has taught baroque violin and led workshops at the International Summer School of Early Music Valtice among others.
