He is a violinist, violist, mandolinist and arranger born and raised in Bowling Green, Ohio who started to play the violin when he was 5 years old. He studied at the Chautaqua School of Music, the Curtis Institute of Music, the Isaac Stern Workshop in 1999, also studying privately with Isaac Stern and Jerusalem Music Encounters in Israel in 2000.
In 1998 he was concertmaster with the Curtis Symphony Orchestra and in 1999 he was concertmaster at the New York String Seminar and in Switzerland with the Verbier Festival Orchestra. He has also been concertmaster with the Music Symphony Festival Orchestra in Chatauqua, New York as well as performing at many festivals nationally and internationally.
He has given live performances of the complete Paganini caprices and the unaccompanied partitas and sonatas by J.S. Bach and as a soloist has given performances with the Cleveland Philharmonic, Columbus Symphony, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia and Toledo Symphony along with several others.
He is a first violin with the Philadelphia Orchestra and a touring member with his family’s DePue Brothers Band. In 2014 he was a featured guest at the Philadelphia Orchestra’s 2014 Opening Night Gala when four of his arrangements were premiered. He is the founder of the Guarneri Quartet Room in Philadelphia.
In the recording studio he has released albums that include his own Altiona along with When It’s Christmas Time by the DePue Brothers Band and Peter Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 6 “Pathetique”/Dunka by The Philadelphia Orchestra.
In the field of musical education he has taught students in his studio since 1998 that have gone on to obtain full tuition scholarships at some of the top music schools in America.
