Trombonist who has worked with the Asko Ensemble, the Corus Symfonisch Blaasorkest, the Ebony Big Band, the Haarlems Symfonisch Blaasorkest, the Ives Ensemble, the NedPhOKoperkwintet, the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Nieuw Ensemble, and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
The Asko Ensemble participated in the Holland Festival on 14th June 1996 with a performance of “Orchester-Finalisten, Scene for orchestra, electronic music, presentator at lib.” by Karlheinz Stockhausen at the Theater Carre in Amsterdam.
In 1996, Harrie played bass trombone on the Ives Ensemble album, John Cage: Two4 Two6 Five2Five5 Seven Seven2. The Ebony Big Band released Erwin Schulhoff: Solo & Ensemble Works – Volume 2 in 1997. They also appear on the CD, Robert F. Graettingerr: Live at the Paradiso. In 1998, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra offered up Varese: The Complete Works.
The Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra and Groot Omroepkoor rang in the holidays on 21stDecember 2002 with Roel van Oosten’s “Quatre Noels Anciens”, Arvo Part’s “Cantus in memory of Benjamin Britten”, Alexandre Tansman’s oratorio, Isaie, le Prophete, and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Fantasia on Christmas Carols”.
In 2004, the Nieuw Ensemble issued the compact disc, Elliott Carter: Homages & Dedication.
The Corus Symfonisch Blaasorkest interpreted Soren Hyldgaard’s “Tivoli Festival Overture” and Johan de Meij’s “T-Bone Concerto”, with Harrie as soloist, at the Theater de Vest in Alkmaar on 27th November 2005.
In October 2009, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, in tandem with the Dameskoor van het Nederlands Concertkoor and the Kinderkor de Kickers, tackled Gustav Mahler’s “Symfonienr. 3”, again featuring Harrie as the soloist during the adagio movement.
The NedPhO Koperkwinktet performed an eclectic program of The Beatles, William Boyce, Paquito D’Rivera, Eric Ewazen, Michael Kamen and Astor Piazzolla at the Amsterdam SofitelHotel the Grand on 12th September 2010.
On 21st November 2010, a quintet composed of Harrie, horn player Fokke van Heel, trumpeters Frank Braafhart and Auke van der Merk, and tuba player David Kutz, paid homage to the Canadian Brass Quintet in a Koffieconcert at the Metrostation Weesperplein.
