Corruccini, Rebecca

She is a violinist from California who started studying the Suzuki Method of violin when she was three years old.  In 2000 she won the Kuhner Competition where she performed Violin Concerto by Stravinsky and then performed the same piece again to win the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra competition.  She went on to study at the Cleveland Institute of Music and was a further winner when she won its concerto competition.  She also earned her Bachelor of Music degree with honors there.  Her Master’s of Music was earned at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music where she was Concertmaster of the Shepherd School Symphony Orchestra.

She joined the Houston Synphony and remained with there for two seasons before becoming a member of the first violin section of Minnesota Orchestra in 2008 and became Acting Assistant Concertmaster in 2014 before becoming Acting Associate Principal Second for the 2015-16 season.

In 2010 she also took on the position of Concertmaster of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra, performing as a featured soloist and remaining there until 2014.  More recently she has performed with the Prometheus Symphony Orchestra and the Oneota Valley Community Orchestra.

As a guest musician she has performed with the Louisiana Philharmonic, as Guest Associate Principal Second Violin with the Baltimore Symphony, as Guest Concertmaster of the Mexico City Philharmonic and as a charter member of the first violin section she has recorded Emmy Award-winning episodes with the PBS All-Star Orchestra.

Performing as a chamber musician she founded the Paragon Ensemble in Davis, California and is a regular performer with many national orchestras and chamber ensembles that include the Minnesota Bach Ensemble and Lyrica Baroque.  She has been a member of the Sun Valley Summer Symphony since 2007 and has also been a member of the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra and Mainly Mozart Festival Orchestra.

In the field of musical education she has been a faculty member of North Carolina’s Brevard Music Center as well as teaching and coaching students to prepare for auditions.
