Bruckner, Heinrich (1965-Present)

He is a trumpeter born in Vienna, Austria who had his first music lessons on the piano and recorded before studying trumpet at the Vienna Conservatory from the time he was 12 years old, receiving his Bachelor degree with distinction in 1985 and previously in 1981 winning the 3rd prize in the Helmut Wobisch Memory competition. In 1985 he went on to take further studies at Vienna’s University of Music and Performing Arts, staying there until 1987.

He has been a member of the brass quintet Art of Brass Vienna since 1984 and after leaving university he became the Principal Trumpet at the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in 1987.  He has also been a member of Ensemble Tonus.

He has been a soloist with several Austrian orchestras and he performed on a CD released by Camerata which received an Amadeus Award nomination in 2005.

In the field of musical education he became guest Professor for Chamber Music at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
