Boone, Lindy (11th October 1955-Present)

She is a singer and author born Linda Boone, known as Lindy and now credited with her married name of Linda Boone Michaelis, in Teaneck, New Jersey who comes from a musical family with her father being the singing star Pat Boone, her mother being an assistant director, her grandfather being Red Foley and her sisters being the singers Debby, Cherry and Laury Boone.

With her sisters she was a member of family group The Boone Sisters from 1968 to 1977 and made many recordings with them that include Glass Castle, Heavenly Love and the Grammy nominated First Class. She appeared with her sisters on many TV shows such as The Mike Douglas Show, the Merv Griffin Show, The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and Perry Como’s Springtime Special. She also featured in the TV movies Pat Boone and Family and the following TV holiday specials. In later years she has appeared in episodes of the TV series The 700 Club, G-d in Hollywood and Hour of Power.

She married Douglas Corbin in 1975 and they remained together until heir divorce in 1983. During their marriage she had the children Jessica and Ryan Corbin. In 1985 she got married to Charles Michaelis “Mike” and they have a son, Tyler.

In 2001 her son, Ryan, suffered a traumatic brain injury in after falling three storeys from the roof of his apartment building following which she and her family started the foundation Ryan’s Reach which helps families and survivors of people who have suffered brain injury. In 2013 she published the book Heaven Hears which gives the story of Ryan’s accident and the journey through the recovery process.

In the 2000s she became a touring member of the vocal ensemble The New Chordettes. She has also been involved in the fitness industry as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer.
