Bernhart, Roman

Violist from Euratsfeld, Austria, who attended the Bruckner Conservatory, the Linz Music School and the University of Music in Vienna. His teachers included Siegfried Fuhrlinger and Franz Wall.

Groups with whom he has worked include Ensemble Actuell, EOS-Quartett Wien and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.

On 30^th March 2002, narrator Gerhard Balluch and EOS-Quartett Wien gave a benefit concert at the Graz Calvary church of The Seven Last Words of Our Saviour on the Cross by Franz Joseph Haydn.

EOS-Quartett Wien participated in the Allegro Vivo Kammermusik Festival on 16^th September 2006, when they performed Johannes Brahms’ “String Quartet No. 1 in C minor, Op. 51”, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “String Quartet No. 6 in B major, K. 159” (“Mailander”) and Dmitri Shostakovich’s “String Quartet No. 6 in G major, Op. 101”.

On 6^th May 2009, they appeared in the Chamber Music Hall in Sala De Sabata where they interpreted Haydn’s “Quartet in F major, Op. 50” and Mozart’s “Quartet in B flat major, K. 458”.

Roman and pianist Doris Adam, violinists Karin Adam and Max Dobrovich and cellist Franz Bartolomey offered up Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Trio No. 1 in D major, Op. 70” (“Ghost”), Richard Dunser’s “…aus blauen Fernen..” and Robert Schumann’s “Piano Quintet in E flat major, Op. 44” on 13^th November 2010.

On 8^th November 2011, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and Eroica Trio performed Beethoven’s “Concerto for Violin, Cello and Piano in C major, Op. 56” (“Triple Concerto”) in Foellinger Great Hall at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. The concert concluded with Brahms’ “Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 73”.

EOS-Quartett Wien took part in the Bregenz Festival the See Studio on 5^th August 2012 when they interpreted Beethoven’s “Quartet No. 4 in C minor, Op. 18” and Detlev Glanert’s “String Quartet” (“Pas de Quatre”).

On 31^st July 2013, Roman and several other members of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra performed Beethoven’s “Septet in E flat major, Op. 20” and Mozart’s “Clarinet Quintet in A major, K. 581” at the Palace.
