Beiler, Jonathan

He is a violinist who was raised in the Philadelphia area who started musical studies when he was 8 years old with the former Philadelphia Orchestra violinist Louis Gesenway.  He studied at the Friends Select School before going on to study French at Yale University.  He followed this by entering Indiana University to study violin.

He performed as a concertmaster of the undergraduate orchestra at Yale University  as well as with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Saint Louis Symphony before becoming a first violin with the Philadelphia Orchestra in 1976.

His recordings include Peter Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 6 “Pathetique” with The Philadelphia Orchestra and Brahms: Clarinet Quintet and Chamber Music for Winds as a chamber musician.

In the field of musical education he has been on the faculty of Temple University and given private tuition in Haddonfield, New Jersey and has attended master classes at Princeton String Academy.
