Timpanist from Boxborough, Massachusetts, who started performing at seven years of age. He attended the Juilliard School of Music, the Music Academy of the West and Tanglewood Music Center. His teachers included Daniel Druckman, Timothy Genis, J. William Hudgins, Roland Kohloff and Mitchell Peters.
On 21st July 2002, he and other fellows of the Tanglewood Music Center interpreted John Adams’ “Chamber Symphony” in Lenox, Massachusetts.
He appeared on the CD Arthur Kreiger: Meeting Places with the Juilliard Percussion Quartet and New York New Music Ensemble in 2003.
Other groups with whom he has worked include Alea III, the Boston Ballet, the Boston Pops, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Classical Tangent, the Concord Chamber Music Society, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Hartford Symphony, the Marlboro Festival Orchestra, New Music Detroit, the New York Philharmonic, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the Springfield Symphony.
On 4th March 2004, he and pianist Barbara Lieureance gave a recital at the Arts Center of the Capitol Region in Troy, New York.
He instructed children about percussion instruments and “Symphony No. 41” (“Jupiter”) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in a Watch & Play program at the Tanglewood Visitor Center on 8thAugust 2004.
On 6th September 2008, New Music Detroit presented “Strange and Beautiful Music II”. Daniel performed selections from “The Consort Suite” and “Red” by Marc Mellits, “DACCA” by D.J. Sparr, “Drumming” by Steve Reich, “The Light That Fills the World” by John Luther Adams, “The Romantic Side of Masking Tape” by Frank Paul and “Tombeau” by Tigran Mansurian.
During the 2008-2009 academic year, he gave a master class at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance.
He became a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and collaborated with the Yesaroun Duo on HeavyUpHeavyDown in 2009.

On 21st March 2010, he was a featured presenter and judge at the Massachusetts Day of Percussion in Boston.
The BSO were joined by Hilary Hahn at Tanglewood on 7th August 2010 for a program that comprised “Quiet City” by Aaron Copland, “Sarabande” from “Partita in D minor” by Johann Sebastian Bach, “Suite from The Firebird” by Igor Stravinsky and “Violin Concerto in D minor” by Jean Sibelius.
In January 2012, they performed “Fanfare for the Common Man” by Aaron Copland, “Good Friday Procession” from Fanfares liturgiques by Henri Tomasi, The Rite of Spring by Stravinsky, “Serenade in E flat, Op. 7” by Richard Strauss and “Serenade for Strings” by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
In the field of music education, he has served on the faculties of Boston University and the New England Conservatory of Music.
