She is a classical guitarist from Carlsbad, California who played the piano when young before beginning to play the guitar after finding one that had been left in her house when she was 11 years old. She went on to study at the University of Southern California with Jim Marcus and Christopher Parkening before later with Pepe, Angel and Celin Romero. She was one of twelve guitarists selected to perform in the guitarist Andres Segovia’s master class in 1980.
During her time at USC she founded the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet in 1979 and performed with the ensemble nationally and internationally for 12 years before moving on.
She formed the Angarola Guitar Quartet and auditioned European musicians to perform as members. After performing together informally they did their debut tour in Germany before doing a seven show tour in the US, first at Cal State Fullerton.
Very interested in music from Europe and a strong love of Ireland, which she regularly visits, she has released the CD Irish Airs and Dances, which was nominated for a 1992 Grammy Award. She has also released Music of Mauri Giuliani – Objet D’Art and Pastorale with Valarie King, Birdwatcher Hill and as an arranger has arranged the guitar parts on the CD Gifts III (Christmas from Around the World) by Joemy Wilson.
As a soloist she was a awarded a grant for touring solo recitals in 1994 by the California Arts Council.
In the field of musical education she has been a teacher at El Camino College.
